Kim, I am so sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner.....Of course, I remember you....and how dear of you all to inquire about mom. That picture is a hoot!!  Here's a bit of an update:

Mom celebrated her 88th birthday last November. Until her 87th year, she was really doing quite well, though on a walker --living independently in her own condo, cooking for herself and tending the plants she so loves on her patio, writing shut ins in her church, having friends pick her up Sundays to attend the church she has been a member of for 60 years.  2010 brought a series of medical challenges and hospitalizations, and when it became clear mom was no longer safe living on her own, she moved into a lovely assisted living facility right across the street from her church (Parson's House--on Northwest HWay and Midway). Mom has had, among other conditions, progressive osteoarthritis and is now in a wheel chair, but she wheels herself through the corridors and, with some assistance from the very caring attendants, is doing well. She is still dedicated to doing her crossword puzzle every day--and we have recently discovered that she is quite  a competitive domino player!

I have attached a pretty current picture at a celebratory dinner for you.

Hope you all have a great reunion. Hope to see  some of you on campus. Dr. S
